Google Chrome – Create Bookmarks

The sites which you visit regularly can be bookmarked or made favourite in Google Chrome. These sites can be accessed from the bookmark bar which is located just below the address bar. The bookmarked sites have an icon made on the bookmark bar. These sites can then be visited by just clicking on the icon.

The several ways of creating bookmarks are:

1. By clicking the star icon.

To create a bookmark the easiest way is to click the star icon. The star icon is located next to the address bar. On clicking the icon a confirmation for creating the bookmark will appear.

· Edit the name of the bookmark.

· Generally the bookmarks are stored on the bookmarks bar but if you want to store them in some folder then you have to change the folder. The most used 5 folders are shown in the list of folders and if the folder which you want to use is not present then click edit. A new window will open in which you will be able to see all the folders. Select your folder and click on done.

· If you don’t want to save that bookmark then click on remove.

2. Keyboard shortcuts.

· For Microsoft windows and Linux press : Ctrl + D on your keyboard when Google Chrome is in use.

· For Mac press ⌘-D on your keyboard when Google Chrome is in use.

3. Manually adding bookmarks.

· Right click (or control click on a Mac).

If the bookmarks bar does not appear then open a new tab or press Ctrl + B.

· Select add page.

· Edit the required details.

· Select the folder.

· Click OK

4. Importing bookmarks from other browsers.

You can export bookmarks from other browsers as HTML files and import them into Google Chrome.

For importing them in Google Chrome follow the following steps.

· Open the bookmarks manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + B.

· Now click on the tools option.

· Click on import bookmarks.

· Select the HTML file which was exported from other browsers and click on open.

5. Drag a link in the bookmarks bar.

In Windows you can create bookmarks just by dragging the URL of the website onto the bookmarks bar.
